A vision. Colored pencils and blue lined notebook paper. A child of 5 sitting on her family's concrete front stoop drawing pictures of fancy ladies while the neighborhood kids play tag. Visual art is and has always been an innate skill as far as I can remember. My self-teaching and formal training at Moore College of Art and The Art Institute of Philadelphia steered me into an expressionistic style of painting. Human beings and their experiences interest me. Love, regret, anger, elation are emotions among many that all humans experience. As we grow, we begin to recognize our shortcomings and work in a process to heal or better them. My art reflects healing and human situations. Whether you feel stuck inside a circumstance or you need to bring your mind to an optimistic place, my paintings help to stir that emotion and feeling. Art is truly therapeutic for the artist and the viewer.

I mostly use figures in my work although I have a few without. With the objects I create, I try not to make them male nor female, but human. The message is more important than the figure. My medium of choice is acrylic, but I have worked with oils, charcoals and pastels. Although I use many colors in my paintings, my two favorites are reds and blues. This is because they are opposites (cool and warm) and they vibrate brilliantly off of each other. I never paint in silence. Listening to a musical selection that coincides with the emotion/situation of the painting aids me in bringing that emotion to life on canvas.
